There are user manuals, booklets, computer magazines and periodicals available at the METU-CC Library (1^st floor, Room no 109).

Smart card application is available for the CDs and booklets which are sold in the CC library. This application enables the use of the services that are mentioned above. These services can only be used by smart card, after the 1^st of January 2008.

The METU Staff should reserve the software media and the user manuals from http://cclibrary.metu.edu.tr/. After the reservation is made, within the same day, the reserved material(s) should be barrowed from CC Library.

This book is prepared to provide a basic source at introductory level and advanced source at system administration level for Linux operating system users. The literary language of the book is Turkish. In the book, the operations that could be applied on the operating system are described with examples based on RedHat 7.3 version, also differences on other versions are mentioned.

Introduction to Unix

This booklet is intended to provide introductory information in order to help the new user of the computers that run a version of the Unix operating system. In the booklet, examples are given applicable to AIX, which is the UNIX Operating System developed for IBM RISC computers and METU Computer Center systems.

Temel Bilgisayar Kullanımı

This book is prepared to provide a basic source for the computer users at introductory level. It presents introductory information about PC, Operating Systems, Windows, Windows-based package programs, and Internet Services. The literary language of the book is Turkish. The fifth edition is now available in METU-CC library with the updated contents.

How to use Network Services

This booklet informs the METU Computer Center users about campus network services and Internet services. It is mainly based on TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol) on UNIX, Microsoft DOS, and Windows.

Procedure to be followed for requests from outside of the campus:

In order to make multiple purchases from outside of the campus, the steps below should be followed:

• Please call Gülsüm AYGÜN from 210 33 56 to declare the name and number of booklets to be purchased.
• The account number to deposit the total amount is given by Gülsüm AYGÜN during phone call.
• After the deposit is completed, the statement of account together with the return address is faxed to Gülsüm AYGÜN from 210 33 03.
• The booklets are shipped to you as soon as the payment reaches to the account.
• The shipment fee should be paid by the purchaser as the booklets reach to them.
